The universe works in polarities; on, off - yin, yang - dark, light - warm, cool - masculine, feminine. It is these polarities that collide and mix together, making the beautiful balanced universe that we live in each and every day. It is these questions and concepts that I am putting into a visual format via paint by composing a composition and a color strategy that lets the paint create visuals inherent to paint. I use large-scale canvases to create organic shapes that evoke flowers, seeds and spores, openings that suggest new dimensions and possibilities, and expressions of the intimacy, harmony and conflict that arise from human relationships
